Peace and knowledge is celebrated and goddess Saraswati, the patron of knowledge, learning, music and arts is honoured. Warriors thank, decorate and worship their weapons, offering prayers to Saraswati. Musicians honour their musical instruments, play them and offer prayers. Farmers, carpenters, smiths, pottery makers, shopkeepers and all sorts of tradespeople similarly decorate and honour their equipment, machinery and tools of trade.
