THE CHARIOTEER:<\/strong>
\nImagine this; – as the Katha Upanishad metaphor describes – we’re riding in a chariot with the intellect as the charioteer, the mind is the reins, the horses the senses, and the road is the sense objects. If we don’t use our reason, if we don’t manage the ‘horse’ senses, the potholes and ditches of life will topple us.<\/p>\n

GREAT THINGS COME GRADUALLY:<\/strong>
\nAnother way of saying that attaining peace through meditation takes time and effort.<\/p>\n

MIND AT ITS HIGHEST:<\/strong>

Bhagavad Gita: <\/strong>Join our exploration of a spiritual classic that’s enriched cultures throughout Asia over the centuries and inspired leading figures in modern times from Mohandas Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, and Aldous Huxley to astronaut Sunita Williams who took a copy of the Bhagavad Gita to the international space station.<\/p>\n

We’re dipping into Swami Ranganathananda\u2019s 3 volume commentary: Universal Message of the Bhagavad Gita. The late President of the Ramakrishna Order, the Swami was a world thinker and cultural ambassador for India, sponsored by the Government to travel to over 50 countries around the world giving lectures.<\/p>\n
