Even when the mind is not operating in deep sleep, still some experience is there. &#8216;I had a restful sleep,&#8217; we say. That points to some subliminal consciousness. That, the Upanishadic sages say, is the source of happiness deep within &#8211; our Soul.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Shadow Ego:<\/strong> &#8220;The ego is nothing but a shadow of the Self.&#8221; The Ego, identifying with the body and mind, disappears in the blazing light of our true &#8216;I&#8217; &#8211; the Atman.<\/p>\n<p>Drawing on the book: <strong>Science of Happiness \u2013 According to Yoga Vedanta<\/strong> by Pravrajika Divyanandaprana: a compilation of her talks given to students at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi in 2018 \u2022Pravrajika Divyananandaprana is a nun of Sri Sarada Math of the Ramakrishna Order.
