This list has been made to remove confusion among non-Hindus about what is sacred to Hindus.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Hindu Sacraments worn on the body<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Hindu icons all year round<\/span><\/h3>\n<h4><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Scared Hindu icons that can not be removed<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>Nose stud<\/strong> <\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Essential for girls during puberty, can not be removed for one year.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwip.com.au\/hcaold\/namaste-lesson\/hindu-symbols-and-icons\/#janaue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Yajnopavit\/Janaue&nbsp;<\/span><\/span>(Sacred thread)<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">&nbsp;essential for boys after their Yajnopavit right of passage, once worn can not be removed and worn again without extensive rituals (not even during swimming lessons)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwip.com.au\/hcaold\/namaste-lesson\/hindu-symbols-and-icons\/#sindoor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Sindoor<\/span><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>essential for married women. Removal is not permitted while husband is alive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wwwip.com.au\/hcaold\/namaste-lesson\/hindu-symbols-and-icons\/#mangalsutra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Mangalsutra <\/span><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">essential for married women. Removal is not permitted while husband is alive.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Choti\/Shikha<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">small hair tail for boys during a right of passage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Pagdi (Turban, A cloth wrapped around the head) <\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">touching or removing it is disrespectful.
